2011 Wild Carp Fall Qualifier

Welcome to the 2011 Wild Carp Fall Qualifier!

 

There will be a peg draw at the registration tent Saturday morning at 6:45 AM. Anglers will set up and pre bait from the same peg location Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 – 8:00 AM.

 

Competitive fishing will be 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM both days. 

Teams must vacate the property at the conclusion of day 1 and the gates will be locked to avoid re-entry, so as to not allow for overnight pre-baiting.

Thank you to Duke and Karen Strache not only for allowing this tournament to take place on their private property, but also the incredible amount of work they put into site maintenance such as mowing and de-weeding peg locations for your benefit.

Please be respectful of the Strache property; no fires and leave your peg location as clean as it was when you arrived. Do not enter the property by the Strache household.

 

Instead, continue along State Fair Blvd (Rte 48) and you will see a green and blue Carp tournament sign along the road next to the dirt road entrance. Follow the path to the railroad track, LOOK BOTH WAYS, then continue straight and the trail will lead you to the registration table.

Event Details

Format
This is a Big 4 tournament with cash prizes and vouchers awarded for the Wild Carp Week 2012.

 

Basic Rules

• $500 per team
• Teams of two; one runner allowed per team
• Two rods per angler, one hook per rod
• Proper Carp care is required (including use of landing mats, catch and release angling, and use of holding sacks when awaiting marshals)
• Weigh marshal must weigh your catch and record your score

Payout
The cash payout will be 80% of registration fees received. Cash prizes will be awarded in the following denominations of available prize money:

• Big 4 1st Place = 40% of prize money and a $600 voucher for 2012 Wild Carp Classic
• Big 4 2nd Place = 25% of prize money and a $400 voucher for 2012 Wild Carp Classic
• Big 4 3rd Place = 15% of prize money and a $300 voucher for 2012 Wild Carp Classic
• Big Fish = 10% of prize money
• Big Mirror = 10% of prize money
  

***Please note that all winners are required complete a 1099-MISC form with Wild Carp Companies after the Wild Carp Fall Qualifier.

Payment ($500 full or $100 deposit) may be made via Paypal, check by mail, or credit card by phone (call 315-427-7109). Those making deposits may pay their remainder balance at registration via cash, money order or credit card only.

Duke Strache with one of his Big 4 Carp. Strache and Virginia released several 20 pounders during day 2 of competition
which did not improve their Big 4 to that point.

Paul Russell stole 1st place for Big Fish in the 2010 Wild Carp Fall Qualifier--from his teamate Sean Lehrer--with this 24 lb, 14 oz Common caught at 656 PM of day 2, about 30 minutes from conclusion of the event.

Ed Wagner and Val Grimely were off to a quick start adding this 20 lb, 5 oz Common early in the 1st morning. They were quickly in the lead with 42 lbs, 8 oz.
