Wild Carp Fall Qualifier 2010

Welcome to the 1st annual Wild Carp Fall Qualifier!
There will be a peg draw at the registration desk Friday morning at 6:45
AM. Anglers will set up and pre bait from the same peg location Friday and
Saturday, 7:00 - 7:30 AM. Competitive fishing will be 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM both
days.
Thank you to Duke and Karen Strache not only for allowing this tournament
to take place on their private property, but also the incredible amount of
work they put into site maintenance such as mowing and de-weeding peg locations
for your benefit.
Please be respectful of the Strache property; no fires and leave your peg
location as clean as it was when you arrived. Do not enter the property by
the Strache household. Instead, continue along State Fair Blvd (Rte 48) and
you will see a green and blue Carp tournament sign along the road next to
the dirt road entrance. Follow the path to the railroad track, LOOK BOTH
WAYS, then continue straight and the trail will lead you to the registration
table.
This is a Big 4 tournament with payouts of cash prizes and vouchers for the
Wild Carp Classic (May 14-17, 2011).
Basic Rules
- $500 per team
- Teams of two, runners are ok
- Two rods per angler, one hook per rod
- Proper Carp care is required (including use of landing mats, catch and release angling, and use of holding sacks when awaiting marshals)
- Weigh marshal must weigh your catch and record your score
Payout
The payout will be $4,000 of registration fees. Here is the payout for 9 teams competing:
- Big 4 1st Place = $1,500 (plus $600 voucher for 2011 Wild Carp Classic)
- Big 4 2nd Place = $1,000 (plus $200 voucher for 2011 Wild Carp Classic)
- Big 4 3rd Place = $800 (plus $200 voucher for 2011 Wild Carp Classic)
- Big Fish = $800 (plus $200 voucher for 2011 Wild Carp Classic)

The 2010 Wild Carp Fall Qualifier was a great success!
There was 8 teams of highly-skilled anglers in attendance and competition
was fierce with less than 10 pounds separating places 1-5 in the Big 4 competition.
In fact, of the 32 'Big 4' fish amongst all teams, 20 of them were 20+ lbs.
There were plenty of teams releasing 20+ lb Carp that did not improve their
score during day 2. What an amazing competition—we can't wait to
do it again next Fall.
Thank you very much to all the competitors that came to Baldwinsville for
this great event. Each of you showed a high acumen for catching large Carp.
Thank you to Duke and Karen Strache for allowing use of their private property
for this event. The two teamed with John Virginia to do a tremendous amount
of site preparation prior to the event, including mowing and de-weeding pegs
locations.
