2012 JGB Triathlon

Triathlon Results
Welcome to the 2012 JGB Triathlon, taking place May 23-25,
2012 along the Seneca River in Baldwinsville, NY, USA.
The 2012 JGB Triathlon is a series of three single-day events
for individual anglers. Cumulative scoring based on a competitor’s
finish in each event will determine his or her finish in the race
to become the undisputed 2012 Wild Carp Angler of the Year.
Registration is $125 per single event. The field for each event is
limited to the first 50 individuals to register with full or partial
payment before the April 30, 2012 deadline.
The Wild Carp Big Carp Challenge will
test anglers’ abilities to catch big Carp and will be awarding prizes
on an hourly basis.
The Wild Carp Total Weight Challenge will test anglers’
abilities to catch multiple Carp in a given timeframe, with prizes
being awarded for the most overall weight of fish caught for the
entire day.
The Wild Carp Big 4 Challenge will
again test anglers’ abilities to catch large Carp, with prizes being
awarded for the cumulative weight of their 4 largest Carp caught
for the entire day.

Basic Rules

2 rods per angler, 1 hook per rod

Single anglers per event
-
1 runner per angler is permitted; runners may not cast or play fish

Proper fish care is required of all participants; do not throw fish or handle carp by gills
-
Use landing mats and avoid ground contact when transporting carp in nets
-
Common courtesy is to be extended to neighboring competitors
-
Do your best to keep your catch in your swim, but ask neighbors to clear lines if your fish runs into their swim
-
Be respectful of event property; fires are not permitted and leave your peg location as clean as it was when you arrived

Must have valid NY State fishing license
Cash Prizes
Cash prizes are determined as a percentage of registration fees received.
Registration fees will be split 70% toward event prizes, 10% toward Wild
Carp Angler of the Year award, and 20% toward event expenses.

Sample Payout at 50 anglers:
$6250 x .7 = $4,375 prize money
$4375/8 hours = $546.88 awarded per hour
$625 contributed toward Angler of the Year Award
70% of total registration fees divided among the following:
Most Weight 1st Place = 40% plus trophy
Most Weight 2nd Place = 25%
Most Weight 3rd Place = 15%
Big Fish = 10%
Big Mirror = 10%
