Wild Carp Companies Staff
Jason Carl, Tournament Director - Wild Carp Companies of New England
Jason Carl has been fishing for both freshwater and saltwater fish species
now for over 20 years, with most of his experience coming in the way of
freshwater species (Carp, Bass, Trout, etc.). He
also fishes the salt for multiple species.
Jason really became hooked on fishing for carp not long before he entered
and won his very first fishing event, by taking 1st place in the local
beginners, 2007 Twin Ponds (Big Fish) fishing event held in New England.
As Jason says, “I wouldn't have became so hooked on carp fishing—not to
mention that he never would've learned the things he learned that helped
him win the event,
if it weren't for Scott Osmond (aka Dr. Carp) and Vinny Jeffreys.”
Thanks to an article Scott had wrote that was available online, the tactics
and strategies that both Scott and Vinny shared piqued Jason's interest
and opened up a whole new way of trying to catch carp, allowing Jason to
practice in his backyard and focus on the behaviors and patterns of carp
in New England swims.
Though he had never met Scott or Vinny prior to reading the article, Jason
was invited out of the blue by Vinny to help by being a pro-staff member/event
coordinator of Wild Carp Club of
New England. He couldn't resist the opportunity.
Since then, Vinny, Scott and Jason have teamed up to coordinate Wild Carp
Club of New England's inaugural 2011 season. Jason continues to learn new
strategies, baits, presentations, and more to catch carp every day. To
Scott and Vinny, Jason says, “Thanks again!”
Jason's personal best is a 26 lb Common Carp. His main personal short-term
goal is to catch a 30+ lb Common Carp.
Jason is looking forward to the future and continuing to help Wild Carp
Club of New England grow bigger and better every year.
